Register a youth volunteer
Instructions to Register YOUTH REFEREE Vounteer
DO NOT USE A MOBILE DEVICE WHILE FOLLOWING THESE STEPS.
These are Step-by-Step instructions on how to register your child as a volunteer Referee or Youth Referee in our system, and if needed to create an account for them.
1. Login to your regions parent account. (Example: www.aysoNNN.org)
NOTE - You must be logged in to the Primary Account Holder. If you are an Additional Account Holder, perhaps your spouse or parent is the Primary.
2. Once signed in, click on “My Account”
3. Then click “Volunteer” on left side
4. On bottom left, click the plus sign with the circle around it that says “Volunteer”
5. This will display a list of available opportunities. If you have players registered, it will show those divisions first.
a) If your Region includes Referee (or Youth Referee) as a role in their Season, you will see that title and may Select it (step 6).
b) If your Region creates a separate program for Referees, scroll down and click “Show All Available Opportunities”. Find the program that includes Referees (e.g. “MY24 Board & Referee Volunteer Registration 24/25), click View Divisions, check the division that includes Referees, scroll down and click “View Selected Opportunities”
6. Find the Box for Referee or Youth Referee, click “Select”, then
a) If minor has not volunteered in the past - click on “Sign up a new user”, then Continue.
NOTE - if you do not see the "Sign up a new user" option, you are an "Additional Account Holder". Perhaps your spouse or parent is the "Primary Account Holder"
b) If the minor is a returning volunteer, click Sign up a registered user, and choose the minor from the pop-up window at the bottom. DO NOT create a new account for a returning volunteer.
7. Complete the entire form with the YOUTH REFEREE’s INFORMATION – NOT the parent’s information. Only boxes with stars next to them require an answer to be entered - minors do not get background checked, so do not need Drivers License number or Social Security number. YOU, AS THE PARENT, must complete the waivers, entering YOUR name. Note you do not need to upload any certifications. VERY IMPORTANT – The email address entered for the youth referee MUST BE DIFFERENT than the parent email address used in the system. It can be a school email address or you can create a gmail account for them, but the youth referee MUST HAVE their own email account and you will need access to it immediately to complete the rest of this registration process. AGAIN – DO NOT USE A PARENT EMAIL ADDRESS.
When all required fields are completed, click “Invite User and Continue”
8. Log into the youth referee’s email address that you entered into this form.
9. There will be an email from AYSO Region NNN “Invitation to join account” - In the body of the email, click the button that says “Accept Invite”.
10. A new tab will open to sign into Sports Connect. It will ask for an email address first. Enter the Youth Referee’s email address. Next, it will ask you to create a password. WRITE THIS INFORMATION DOWN AND KEEP IT SAFE.
11. They will then receive an email with a “Verify Email” button. This puts them into the Account Holder Settings page of their account, where they will be asked for phone, job, etc (“None” is a valid answer)
12. The Account has now been created and Youth Referee will need to log into their own account to complete online training and to register for training classes.
