Transfer your domain to the AYSO office

From AYSO Wiki

A region that is maintaining and paying for their vanity AYSO URL (aysoxxx.org or townayso.org) may transfer ownership of the URL to the AYSO office. The office will then maintain and pay future ongoing fees for that domain.

AYSO uses GoDaddy as their domain registrar. The AYSO Office GoDaddy account email address is: dnsadmin@ayso.org.

Domain Registered with GoDaddy

If your domain is register with GoDaddy already you simply need to transfer it to another GoDaddy account using the instructions here: Transfer my domain to another GoDaddy account.

The Recipient's email address is: dnsadmin@ayso.org

To expedite GoDaddy has the option to enter the Recipient's Customer #. To obtain the AYSO GoDaddy customer number reach out to AYSO Support or the AYSO Google Workspace Team BEFORE you initiate the transfer.

While following the instructions provided by GoDaddy you'll be asked if you want to copy the current domain contact information to the new account, select no.

Input dnsadmin@ayso.org as the recipient and select No to not copy current domain contact information.

Domain Registered Elsewhere

If your domain is not registered with GoDaddy there are steps that you'll need to take before reaching out to the AYSO office.

  • Unlock the domain with your current registrar
  • Obtain the domain transfer/authorization code from your current registrar
  • An export of your DNS records, often called a DNS Zone File, OR a full list of all DNS records for the domain.

Once you have done both of these things, email dnsadmin@ayso.org with:

  • Your name
  • Your Section/Area/Region
  • Domain you wish to transfer
  • The Transfer or Authorization code
  • The DNS Zone File, or list of full DNS records for the domain

A member of the team will verify the information a begin the process of transferring the domain.
