Divvy Virtual Card

From AYSO Wiki

A virtual card can be used almost the same way as a physical card, except it cannot be swiped at a brick-and-mortar store. Use a virtual card for things like subscriptions and recurring transactions or for temporary/one time use cards.

Benefits of virtual cards:

  • Easy to cancel a card linked to only one vendor/service without affecting all other payments
  • Cannot be lost or stolen
  • One time use and temporary cards can be issued to reduce potential fraud
  • Over the phone payments, protects your physical card number

Create a virtual card:

Follow the step by step guide below:

(1) Navigate to Divvy -> Cards -> All Cards

(2) Select Create new card from the upper Right Corner

(4) Fill in required info as follows:

  • Card Name - This could be the name of the vendor (i.e. Sterling) or type of expense (Registrations)
  • Budget Settings - If you have multiple budgets, you will need to select which budget will have funds for this card. If you only have ONE Divvy budget (Suggested) then it will already be listed
  • Available for the month - Most regions will want to turn this option OFF and control spending with the Divvy Budget Settings
  • Set Card Expiration - if you want this card to expire on a certain date, check this box and complete the date field
  • Card Holder - Select the Divvy user that will use this card and be responsible for uploading receipts

**Optional** - With Virtual Cards you have the option to pre-fill in data every time the card is used.

  • Required for AYSO - Region XXX - Receipts never required box should NOT be checked. All expenses must have appropriate documentation
  • Category / NAP Code - If you are creating virtual cards for each vendor or type of expense, you can select the NAP code from the drop down provided
  • Notes - Leave this blank as each transaction should have unique notes about what the expense was for, who was in attendance, etc.

Once the required fields are completed, you will have the option to "Create Card" in the lower right had corner.

Once created, you will see an image of a card and can select the eye icon to reveal the numbers you will enter online or on your request to have a card on file.

Be sure to pay attention to the billing address as it is NORMALLY the National office and the Zip Code for online processing should be 90502.
